Who made Chainmail and how

Armorers, sometimes with the help of blacksmiths, made armor.

Chainmail armor was made first by cutting metal into thin rods and then drawing them through small holes to make wire. The wire would then be coiled around a rod the size they wanted the rings to be. Afterward, the coil would be cut to make hoops. Then these hoops would be heated and pressed, overlapping the ends and then adding a hole for a rivet, so that the ring could then be hammered together with rivets to connect other rings.
